This explains what Orbital Command collects and how it's used across this website, the Orbital Command application, and the Houston bot.
What we collect
- Application details you submit on the Join page: handle/gamertag, a contact (Discord tag or email), the games you play, experience, how you found us, and any message.
- Community activity: if you join the Discord server, your Discord username and ID, plus event RSVPs, attendance, and match results tied to your membership.
- Game data: for members who register a Riot ID or Steam ID, match results pulled from those games' official APIs to power the ladder and stats.
- Basic analytics: via Google Analytics (loaded through Google Tag Manager) — page views, referrer, device type, and approximate (city-level) location. No cross-site ad tracking.
How we use it
To review applications and contact you about membership, run events and the competitive ladder, keep the community organized, and understand and improve the site. That's it.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising, and we don't post your personal contact information publicly.
Third parties
We rely on a few services that process data on our behalf or that you connect yourself: Google Analytics / Tag Manager (site analytics), Discord (the community and the Houston bot), and the Riot and Steam APIs (match data, only for members who register their IDs). Each has its own privacy terms.
Retention & your choices
We keep membership and community data for as long as you're part of the community. You can ask to see or delete your data at any time — contact Command through the Discord server or the Join page. To opt out of analytics, use your browser's tracking controls or a Google Analytics opt-out.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be noted here with a new date above.
